Constitutive meetings of three regional Parliamentary Assemblies and constitutive meeting and the 1st session of the OACPS-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly - 19-21 February 2024
The constitutive meetings of the OACPS-EU four new Parliamentary Assemblies established by the Samoa Agreement were held from Monday 19 to Wednesday 21 February 2024 in the National Assembly, in Luanda, Angola.
Members of the European Parliament met their counterparts to launch the new joint institutions and to celebrate the entering into force of the Samoa Agreement, signed on 15 November 2023, replacing the Cotonou agreement adopted in 2000 and the former Lomé Convention of 1975.
The Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and European Union (EU) reinforced their partnership, under the theme "A New Dawn in OACPS-EU Relations: Towards a People-Led Partnership".

Latest news - 2024 European elections - 6 to 9 June 2024
Citizens in the EU Member States will elect their representatives to the European Parliament during the European elections of 6 to 9 June. The newly elected Members, representing EU citizens until 2029, will meet in July to elect their President, Vice-Presidents and Quaestors. They will decide on the composition of Parliament's standing and sub committees - thereby launching the new legislative term. The committees will then hold their first meetings to elect their respective Chairs and Vice-Chairs.

Latest news - Last meeting: Wednesday, 24 April 2024 in Strasbourg - Delegation for relations with Palestine
During the meeting of the Delegation for relations with Palestine that took place on Wednesday, 24 April 2024, at 15h30-16h30 in Strasbourg, there were two exchanges of views:- on the current situation and latest developments in Palestine with the Head of the EU Representation Office to West Bank & Gaza Strip, UNRWA, Ambassador Alexandre Stutzmann
- on the famine and starvation in Gaza with United Nations World Food Programme Senior Spokeswoman for the Regional Office Middle East, North Africa & Eastern Europe, Ms Abeer Etefa
